Stronger Families. Stronger Communities. Stronger Washington

I was very honored to address White Pass Jr. Sr. High School students at Senior Decision Day! A talented class with decisions including Centralia College, Columbia College, apprenticeship programs, U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, workforce, Centralia Beauty College, Saint Martin’s University, Eastern Washington University, Central Washington University, and more.

This event was part of the Gear Up program. Gear Up’s vision is that all students are academically, socially, and financially prepared to enter and complete the postsecondary program or institution of their choice.  Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP) is a competitive federal program that provides six- and seven-year grants to education/community partnerships and states to increase the number of low-income students who are prepared to enter and succeed in postsecondary education.

Thank you Mrs. Foley, teachers, staff, parents, and students!

A student’s post-high school decision is one of many education/career decisions they will make and their future has endless possibilities. These aren’t ‘right or wrong’ choices but one of many paths they will take in the bigger storyline of their lives. Very excited for their future.
