Stronger Families. Stronger Communities. Stronger Washington

I offered an amendment to the proposed House Operating Budget that would remove a rebate-for-votes provision. The House Democrat’s proposed Operating Budget creates a rebate, If and only If, you vote against Initiative-2117. A $100 payment would be made on or before October 15, 2024 and another would be paid after the election based on your vote.

The cost of CCA on all Washingtonians at the gas pump and to heat their homes is far more than the 2,000 pennies in the rebate. Regardless, the state should avoid the perception that the operating budget may attempt to influence an election.
