Stronger Families. Stronger Communities. Stronger Washington

Rep. Peter Abbarno (R-Centralia) joined Rep. Joe Timmons (R-Bellingham) to co-sponsor SHB 2020 that recently passed unanimously from the Washington State House of Representatives. The legislation creates a public infrastructure program to help communities rebuild after a natural disaster, such as catastrophic flooding experienced in the Chehalis Basin and wildfires in Eastern Washington.

If SHB 2020 becomes law, the Washington state Military Department will “administer a program for emergency assistance to county governments and federally recognized tribes that experience public infrastructure damage due to a natural, technological, or human-caused disaster.
